In 1987, she graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Mining Institute in the specialty "Geological survey, prospecting and exploration of mineral deposits" and received the qualification of mining engineer-geologist.
From 1987 to 2002 she worked in the Dnipropetrovsk Geophysical Expedition as a geological engineer and geologist. From 2002 to 2016 she worked as an assistant, and from 2017 a senior lecturer in the Department of Geology and Mineral Prospecting.
In 2006, she completed her postgraduate studies, working on a dissertation on the topic "Geological factors of methane accumulation in coal layers of the Pavlograd-Petropavlovsk district".
She teaches the following disciplines: "Search and exploration of mineral deposits", "Fundamentals of geology of oil and gas" "Reporting geological documentation", "Geotectonics", "Regional geology". N. Khomenko participates in the preparation of teaching materials for students. She developed work programs, thematic plans, guidelines and tasks to control students' knowledge.
Area of scientific interest: geology of coal deposits, gas-bearing capacity of coal layers and host rocks, methods of forecasting methane accumulations in the coal-bearing strata.
